Hope and vision loss, self-confidence and vision loss. Some would say these words don't go together. Yet when people with vision loss help and encourage each other, these words and more become a powerful reality, leading to productive, independent lives.
No one succeeds alone, and we, like everyone else, could benefit from a little help. This may be where you come in.
You are cordially invited
to be a friend of the
California Council of the Blind.
Purpose:
- To assist the California Council of the Blind (CCB) with the implementation of its vision, mission and goals through volunteer service and fundraising.
- To support the CCB in building a solid foundation that insures our legacy of enhanced quality of life for people who are blind or visually impaired.
We need corporations, organizations and people like you who:
- Have a family member, friend or colleague experiencing vision loss
- Are passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with vision loss
- Are quiet philanthropists developing or expanding your charitable giving base
As a volunteer you may be asked to…
- Help at the CCB Fall and/or Spring Convention
- Help prepare publications for mailing
- Write articles
- Assist local affiliates/Chapters with special projects, serve as a sighted guide, provide transportation, etc.
- Conduct a workshop
As a fundraiser you may be asked to…
- Give a tax deductible donation of money, goods or services
- Introduce the CCB to individuals, organizations or corporations that may want to support the CCB
- Serve as a grant researcher
- Serve on a grant writing committee
- Sponsor a fundraiser
- Host a friends of the CCB reception
- Organize and implement an annual fund raising campaign
