Editor's Corner, Mike Keithley

Welcome to the fall Blind Californian, the only bark heard in Virginia. "That's true, and an echo was reported in Massachusetts near Perkins." And I also heard about one heard in Washington, but it was an illegal immigrant!

The center pieces of this issue are reports on the CCB and ACB conference and conventions. The CCB report is written by Billy Eliot, editor of Forward, the Golden State Guide Dog Handlers Inc (GSGDHI) affiliate newsletter. Billy also served as alternate delegate for the affiliate and wrote a stellar convention report that all BC readers will appreciate. Thank you, Billy.

Look forward to a profile on CCB's diabetics affiliate from Susan Glass and Maile George. Bonnie Rennie tells us about the new programs from the formal Seniors Without Walls. Plus we have a cute story from President Wilkinson about earning confidence.

A writers group, currently called the CCB-writers, has been established to help newbies write material for the BC and to aid in other Publication Committee projects. There is an email list for sharing information, and it's called ccb-writers@groups.io. To subscribe, send a blank message to ccb-writers+subscribe@groups.io. There are frequent, though not formal, zoom conference meetings. Contact mlkeithley@comcast.net.

Not interested in writing? Well, imagine you've told a really good story to your friend, and the reaction was so cool! Now imagine telling it at your chapter meeting. Imagine a little more and write it on the computer. You've started: Go for it and join Ccb-writers!

So Enjoy--bark joyiously, swing that cane vigorously and be ....
