Hotel Description

General:
The main entrance of the hotel faces south. All of the meeting rooms are located on the first floor, down hallways that run west to east, on either side of the lobby.

All of the hotel rooms, restrooms, meeting rooms and ball rooms have print and braille signage located next to the door at head level, about 60 inches above the floor.

Event registration will take place at a table in the lobby of the hotel.

Main Entrance:
The main or front entrance of the hotel faces south. The entrance is located under a large drive up archway. There are three steps leading up to the entrance, with hand rails spaced every six feet. When outside facing the hotel, there is a wheelchair ramp located to the left of the doors. This wheelchair ramp curves along the building and also leads to the designated smoking area. The entrance has two automatic sliding double doors located about five feet apart. There are carpets located immediately outside and inside of the automatic doors. There are also planters located in between the double doors against the glass window.

First Floor Description:
The front entrance doors lead into the main lobby, which is at the center of the hotel. There are couches against the walls on either side of the doors and a planter in between the two doors. In the middle of the room is a round table. Approximately twenty feet ahead of the two front doors are two sets of double doors which enter the Rancho Cordova Room. The Rancho Cordova room will be used during the day as the exhibit hall. Along the same wall as the Rancho Cordova room are chairs and tables.

First Floor East Wing:
The Stanford room is about five feet from the main entrance on the right hand side. The braille sign is located three feet to the left of the door. If you pass the Stanford room you must turn right to continue down the east hallway. After turning right you will pass a threshold and the floor will change from tile to carpet. About five feet past the threshold you will find the Los Angeles room on the left or north wall. Five feet further down the hallway on the left is the entrance to the San Francisco room. Across from the entrance to the San Francisco room, on the south wall, is a small hallway with a door that leads outside, a women’s restroom on the left and a men’s restroom on the right. Before entering either restroom you must pass through an outer door. The restrooms are labeled in braille adjacent to the opening of the outer door. If you use the hotel exit located near these restrooms use caution. There is one step down about three feet from the door and another step down about five feet further. If you continue down the original east hallway for another twelve feet you will find the Sacramento room on the left side of the hallway. These three rooms make up the California Ballroom. If you continue eastward down the hallway, the floor changes from carpet to tile. If you continue onto the tile you will approach two sets of double doors with a planter in between the doors and tables against the walls on either side. The doors exit to the hotel parking lot. There are benches and trash cans located outside on either side of the doors. However, before the tile, the carpeted hallway makes a slight left and continues to the Santa Barbara room and San Diego room, on the right side of the hallway. The signs for these rooms are located next to each other, in between the two doors. These rooms are used for smaller convention meetings. This hallway dead-ends into an employee area.

First Floor West Wing:
When entering the main entrance of the hotel there is a bell desk to the left of the door. If you continue to the end of the carpet and make a slight left you will be approaching three check-in desks. Along the wall, across from these desks, are couches. At the end of the check in desks on the left is a small room with snacks and personal items for purchase. There is also a microwave and utensils available for guests. There is a customer window in this room that allows you to speak with employees behind the check-in desk. Across from the third check-in desk is another lobby area. This lobby area contains three elevators on the east wall, the entrance to the restaurant on the north wall and a hallway leading west.

On the first floor the elevator call button can be found between the first and second elevator. The elevators ring once when going up and ring twice when going down. When inside of the elevator facing the door, the buttons are on the right side. All of the elevator buttons are labeled with braille. However the first floor is labeled “main”. Each floor is labeled with braille and tactile print on either side of the metal frame outside of the elevator door.

When exiting the elevator doors on the first floor, the entrance to the restaurant is about ten feet forward and on the right or north wall. There are open double doors that lead to a hostess stand on the left hand side. This is where the hostess will greet you and seat you. The bar is located directly behind the hostess stand about ten feet further into the restaurant.

On the first floor, a large round table is located less than ten feet from the middle elevator. Across from the elevator closest to the front desk is a hallway that heads west and takes you to Starbucks and more meeting rooms. When you walk through the open doorway there is a door immediately to the left, on the south wall, that leads to the hotel’s business center. Inside you can find a copy machine and two computer stations. Across from the business center, on the right or north wall, is a water fountain with a cup dispenser on the left. Next to the water fountain is an ATM machine. This machine does not have a headphone jack. Continuing along the right wall there is a small hallway with a men’s and women’s restroom. When you enter the hallway, the men’s restroom is on the left and the women’s is on the right. These restrooms have braille signs adjacent to the opening of the doors. Across from this hallway and along the wall is seating with tables. Continuing along the right wall, next to the hallway with the bathrooms is a shelf that indents into the wall and contains informational pamphlets. Past the shelf of pamphlets and on the right is a carpeted hallway that leads to the pool area.

On the north wall, past the hallway leading to the pool is the condiment bar for Starbucks. Across from the condiment bar is the Starbucks pick up counter. If you follow this counter around to the left you will approach the ordering counter. Past the ordering counter are doors that lead outside. There is seating outside and to the left is the designated smoking area. In front of the Starbucks counter is a seating area with tables and chairs.

If you continue west down the hallway past Starbucks, the first set of double doors on your right is the entrance to the fitness center. The fitness center is open 24 hours a day and requires key card access. The next set of double doors on the right or north wall is the Carmel room. The braille sign is located to the left of the doors. Across from the Carmel room, but at a slight angle to the right, are the doors to the Folsom room, which will be used as the hospitality suite. The braille sign is located to the right of the doors. If you continue down the hallway past the Carmel room the tile floor turns to carpet and makes a slight left. The first room on your right is the Santa Rosa room. The next door on your right is the Newport room. Across from the Newport room is the Board room. All braille signs are located adjacent to the opening of the doors. These three rooms are all used as smaller meeting rooms. The rest of this hallway contains hotel offices. The hallway dead ends into a door labeled exit. When you go through this door you are in a small room that has a door on your left leading outside to the guide dog relief area and a door on your right leading to the stairwell.

Energy Upgrade CA Guide Dog Relief Area:
The guide dog relief area will be located outside of the hotel at the end of the west hallway. In order to get there from the hotel lobby, you must pass Starbucks and continue to the end of the west hallway. When you enter the door at the end of the hallway you will be in a small room with two doors. The one on the right leads to the stairs and the one on the left leads outside. Just outside and to the left is a grassy area. A designated portion of the parking lot, adjacent to the grass, will also be used for the guide dog relief area.

The Pool Area:
When approaching the pool from the hallway across from Starbucks proceed straight down the hall to the pool door. When you enter the pool area, you first come to a patio with chairs and tables. At the end of the patio are three steps that go down to the pool area. The hot tub is located to the left of the pool. If you walk in between the pool and hot tub and then go left you will approach a cement building with an accessible bathroom on the left and a laundry room on the right. There is also a shelf of towels located against this building. The pool area is locked from 11pm to 6am. You can also enter the pool from the fitness center.

The Concierge Room:
The concierge lounge can be found on the 10th floor. After exiting the elevator and entering the hallway, the concierge room is the first door on your left. This room requires key card access.

Guest Floors:
The guest rooms are located on floors two through eleven. On these floors, the odd number rooms are on the right and the even number rooms are on the left. With your back to the elevators, across from the middle and right elevator doors is a table with a phone and mirror on top. This phone can be used to call rooms in the hotel. Again, with your back to the elevators, each floor’s guest room hallway is located across from the left elevator door. When entering the hallway, the first door on the right leads to a stairwell. There is a second stairwell located at the very end of the hallway. The stairwells require key card access to enter the floors, on every floor. When walking down the hallway, the hallway will curve left, at this point the ice machine can be found in an unlocked room on the left.
