Welcome to the CCB Happenings for June 16, 2023.
Greater LA Chapter Meeting
You are invited to join us this Saturday, June 17 at noon. Our guest speakers are from the Hearts for Sight Foundation. Joseph Burton, president and Racquel Decipeda, secretary will join us to highlight the wide array of health and fitness opportunities offered by their organization to the blind and visually impaired community in southern California. These include bike rides, robust hikes, NUTRITION COUNSELING SERVICES and support groups for those adjusting to vision loss. For the Zoom link, email steve.bauer@ccbnet.org
Active Blind Inland Valleys
Active Blind Inland Valleys is excited to announce two special speakers for our next meeting. The meeting will be held on June 17 and will begin promptly at noon. We will have a Hangout at 11:00 AM prior to our meeting.
We are honored to have Sabrina Gonzales from the Civil Rights Institute in Riverside. This is a new museum honoring civil rights in Southern California. It is an opportunity to learn about the history in our area as well as being able to interact and give information regarding the blindness movement. We are hoping to develop an ongoing relationship with the institute with further upcoming events.
Our second speaker will be community educator James Collins discussing power Saver opportunities. He is our CCB educator regarding Energy Upgrade California. He will talk about how to save money while conserving energy. We hope you will join us on June 17.
The meeting link will be sent out on the list ahead of time.

Attention CCB members!
Attention CCB members! CCB is participating in the 67th Annual North Beach Festival in San Francisco this Saturday, June 17 from 10am-6pm. CCB will feature its classic orange Energy Upgrade California Leslie “Knope” (Canopy) on Grant Avenue between Green and Vallejo streets.
Along with continued efforts to reach the public about Power Saver Rewards, I’d like to highlight CCB member’s accomplishments and how current projects intertwine. Please let me know if you’d like to stop by or volunteer! If not, it’s a wonderful event in Little Italy and an excuse to get out and enjoy the early summer!
For additional program details, please visit Power Saver Rewards or contact James Collins, CCB Community Educator at James.Collins@CCBnet.org.
