Welcome to the CCB Happenings for September 6,
2024.
Legislative Update:
I am pleased to report that both of our bills, AB3193, to reform the system under which the Department of Rehabilitation purchases assistive technology for its consumers, and AB1902, which requires accessible drug labeling for people with print disabilities, including those who are blind or have low vision, have both passed the Legislature and are on the Governor’s desk. We will concentrate our advocacy efforts on AB1902 because we do not have assurances of the Governor’s position on that bill. We will forward sample letters that individuals and organizations can use to urge the Governor to sign that bill.
From the Convention Planning committee:
Hello CCB family:
The convention planning committee will hold a listening session on Monday, September 16 at 7:30 p.m.
This session is intended specifically to discuss programming suggestions for next year’s virtual convention and discussion will be limited to this topic. We want to know what programming you would like to see, so come and bring your creativity, as well as any specific suggestions for speakers. This is your convention, and we want to hear from you. If you have ideas and are unable to attend, please send any input to:
Convention.ccb@gmail.com
