The CCB Office will be closed on Thursday, September 7, 2017.

VISTA Applications
We have received zero applications from our membership regarding VISTA Opportunities.
To Apply:
- Go to https://my.americorps.gov. Search listings: Program type is Americorps VISTA. The State is California. The program name is California Council of the Blind.
- Create a profile on https://my.americorps.gov.
- Apply to the VISTA position for the California Council of the Blind.
- Send a cover letter, resume, to paul.shane@ccbnet.org.
- Resumes and supporting materials must be in to Paul Shane by 5 PM on September 8, 2017 to be considered.
- Interviews will be held between September 9-13, 2017 and final decisions will be made by September 20, 2017. Selected applicants will have one day to accept or decline the position.
- Selected applicants will attend training in Los Angeles from November 14-17, 2017, reporting to the CCB office to begin their service year on November 18, 2017.
Office Move
For those in the local area: CCB will need a lot of boxes for our office move and are looking for volunteers to accumulate them for us. Arrangements can be made for pick-up. Our move is scheduled for November so please start collecting boxes today. Call Paul at the office for more information.
CANES Across California
The last registration begins on September 1, 2017. This is the last opportunity that you will have to obtain a CANES shirt for your scheduled events.
East LA Chapter Meeting
Come join the East LA CCB chapter for our annual end of summer picnic on September 9th, from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Garcia Home: 1226 S. McBride Ave. East Los Angeles, Cross St., Olympic. Tickets are $6 for everyone.

redwood Empire Chapter Meeting
Come join the redwood Empire chapter for our September meeting where we will hear from Jeff Thom on CCB governmental affairs issues.
When: September 9 from noon to 3:00 PM.
Where: Earle Baum Center of the Blind, 4539 Occidental Road, room 3, Santa Rosa.
There will be a pizza and soda lunch before the meeting starts.
Cost for lunch: $5

Capitol Chapter Picnic
Its PICNIC TIME IN THE CAPITOL CITY!
What: ACB Capitol Chapter picnic!
