Welcome to the CCB Happenings for March 27.
CCB Convention Update:
The CCB board has voted to cancel our in-person 2020 convention. Anyone who has already made hotel reservations should go ahead and cancel those. We are investigating options for a virtual convention. Details will be made available as soon as we have them.
CCB Happenings Editor:
The California Council of the Blind is looking for an Editor of our weekly publication, The CCB Happenings. The editor is part of the CCB Publications committee. The candidate must have good editorial skills including spelling, grammar and arrangement. Even though the editor is part of the Publications committee the person will largely work alone to communicate with those submitting items for The Happenings to make sure the submissions are relevant to CCB members and fit within both time and space constraints. The below list covers most of the weekly tasks but may not be exhaustive.
DUTIES
- Collect and arrange items on a weekly basis.
- Check that submissions contain all necessary contact information and are within space constraints.
- Submit the completed Happenings to the CCB office, President, FaceBook team and TOG for recording, email distribution and online posting.
Desired Qualities
- Ability to record on the phone system and distribute to CCB email lists when needed.
If you are interested in this position and feel you fit the qualifications please submit your letter of interest to gabe.griffith@ccbnet.org providing your interest, qualifications and contact information. The position will remain open until the Publications committee has filled it.
Attention Students:
Are you a full-time post-secondary student, legally blind, and a resident of California? No matter where you attend post-secondary education (college, university, trade school) you may apply online for a 2020-2021 academic year CCB scholarship.
