CCB 2020 Candidate Questions:

Our convention plans have changed, but we will maintain our schedule for receiving answers to the candidate questions below. Remember, while you are not obligated to respond, your answers are invaluable in assisting our members in evaluating candidate qualifications.

The following positions are open this year:

Officers: president, first vice president, possibly second vice president and treasurer

Directors:

Charlene Ornelas who has indicated she will not seek re-election; Paul Patche who is termed out; Rob Turner; Frank Welte

Statements are due by midnight, Friday, April 17. Given that as elections unfold, positions may open up, submit answers for any possible office which interests you. Submit your answers to ccotb@ccbnet.org

You can answer all the questions in a single document, but each answer should be no longer than 300 words. Number your answers. Submit as a Word or text file.

In the subject line put your last name and “Candidate Questions” as in:
Wilkinson Candidate Questions

Our candidates forum will be on Sunday, May 17.

  1. State the position you are seeking. What are your qualifications for this office, and what contributions have you made to your chapter or affiliate or to the statewide organization in the last year?
  2. Briefly discuss a major internal debate likely to face CCB during your term.
  3. Suppose the following scenario happens:
We don’t come to agreement with the Doubletree hotel for an August convention in 2021. Given the “elasticity” clause which gives us alternative convention options, present your thoughts on how CCB should deal with the convention issue.

Chapter of the Year Award:

The Chapter of the Year Award is presented to the CCB chapter that coordinates a significant group effort that makes a positive individual or community impact.
Based on information obtained from CCB Chapters, the CCB Membership Committee determines which Chapter shall earn the CHAPTER OF THE YEAR Award for 2020, which will be presented at our annual Conference and Convention.

For more details and to submit nominations, email Membership Chair Guillermo Robles at g.robles1@me.com or call 323-490-5753. Submissions are due no later than April 17th.
