California Council of the Blind in partnership with Energy Upgrade California is reaching out to California residents about mindful use of renewable and non-renewable resources. “The Clean Energy and Pollution Reduction Act (Senate Bill 350) established clean energy, clean air, and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals, including reducing GHG to 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2030 and to 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2050”. “The California Energy Commission is working with other state agencies to implement the bill.”
CCB’s statewide outreach through 2022 will aim to educate and provide partners to help transition to better practices which will meet the current legislation’s goal. If any CCB chapter would like to have a presentation, virtual and/or in-person please contact me at the following addresses:

The Bylaws Committee invites you to an Open Discussion on November 5, 2020 at 7:30 pm-9:00 pm. The Committee is developing a 3-5 year plan to get the Bylaws in shape and we want to hear from you, the membership.

Active Blind Inland Valleys Pampered Chef Fundraiser:
Active Blind Inland Valleys, CCB is excited to invite you to a Pampered Chef chapter fundraiser, presented by Cindy Golding, our Pampered Chef consultant. The fundraiser will begin virtually on the Zoom platform on Saturday, October 31, 11:00 AM, and will end on Saturday, November 7, 2020 5:00 PM.

Halloween Event:
Join the San Francisco chapter for an hour or so of spooky stories on Halloween, Saturday, October 31 at 8:00 PM. If you'd like to read or tell a story, please let Vita know so everyone can be included.
We'll have time at the end to tell our trick or treat stories or just hang out.

Afternoon at the Museum and AIRA Virtual Tour Live Stream Announcement:
AIRA (Artificial Intelligence Remote Access) recently announced it will continue the Afternoon at the Museum series.
Although the virtual tours initially featured museums from the African American Museum Association, it will begin including other museums after November.
The series hosted by Stephanie Watts (member of CCB and an AIRA explorer) will next air Friday, November 6 at 1:00 PM Pacific time.

Glendale-Burbank Area Chapter Fundraiser:
The Glendale-Burbank Area Chapter is having an ongoing fundraiser with Terri Lynn fundraising. Anyone can order some delicious snacks when you get a craving or for gifts. Their nuts and candies are very tasty- from chocolate covered nuts, just plain nuts of all kinds, and dried fruit, separately or in a snack pack.
