Welcome to the CCB Happenings for November 6.
From James Collins, CCB Community Educator:
California Council of the Blind in partnership with Energy Upgrade California is reaching out to California residents about mindful use of renewable and non-renewable resources. “The Clean Energy and Pollution Reduction Act (Senate Bill 350) established clean energy, clean air, and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals, including reducing GHG to 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2030 and to 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2050”. “The California Energy Commission is working with other state agencies to implement the bill.”
CCB’s statewide outreach through 2022 will aim to educate and provide partners to help transition to better practices which will meet the current legislation’s goal. If any CCB chapter would like to have a presentation, virtual and/or in-person please contact me at the following addresses:
email at James.Collins@CCBnet.org
phone: (916) 441-2100,
mobile: (925) 998-6126.
From James Collins:
“Energy Upgrade California is seeking CCB members to participate in taped ‘public service announcement’ about how members are becoming more energy conscience. It will be a two (2) minute media produced interview.
If interested and for more details, please contact James Collins at James.Collins@CCBnet.org or at the Sacramento office (916) 441-2100.
The deadline to enroll is Thursday, November 12.”

Glendale-Burbank Area Chapter Fundraiser:
The Glendale-Burbank Area Chapter is having an ongoing fundraiser with Terri Lynn fundraising. Anyone can order some delicious snacks when you get a craving or for gifts. Their nuts and candies are very tasty- from chocolate covered nuts, just plain nuts of all kinds, and dried fruit, separately or in a snack pack.
